All About Leslie

Born to a British expatriate and raised in the Rocky Mountain region, Leslie loved high tea hosted in the great outdoors accompanied by her mummy’s tales of adventure.

Heeding the call, Leslie set out to make her own stories and pursued her degree at a university in the south, where the air was thick with fragrance and decidedly less mountainous, and there were grits.  Cheesy grits.

She graduated with a degree in engineering, loaded with extra British literature classes, which opened the door to employment in a unit dedicated to blowing things up.  Scientifically, of course.  Rather than record data, she wanted to spin tales out of the events.

Leslie sought new experiences.

She fly-fished in a glacier stream at an elevation of 8,000 feet in water so cold that her wading boots turned blue.  She hooked her thumb.

She sipped champagne in a hot air balloon over Napa Valley, where she listened to awe-inspiring silence and appreciated the glory in the morning rays peeking over the horizon.  She was afraid to look down.

Leslie journeyed from the edge of the southern coastline to the far reaches of the Pacific Northwest enclosed in a vehicle with an infant and a carsick cat.

Without her husband’s humor, the cat would have triumphed.

She ran with a gentle rain misting her face on the fens in Northern England until her lungs burned, muscles ached, and mind quieted enough to hear the whisper of the universe.

Leslie discovered romance, not just with the man with humor creasing his eyes, but penned in beauty by her favorite authors.  She was inspired.

She took a leap and wrote about the characters spilling from her imagination and she has not stopped.  It fulfills her.
